Rollin' in the Big Easy

| This guitar was ready out of the box. Fit and finish was excellent. Plays like a much more expensive guitar. I won't insult your intelligence, by saying it sounds, or plays like a Gibson. But for the money, it's a no brainer. It has that true Les Paul feel. If mine was damaged or stolen, I'd definitey buy another. I've been playing for about 30 years, and I've had my share of axes. For the money this is a solid. |
Epiphone, Gibson...what's the difference

| I'll tell you what's the difference, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Eric Clapton (during Cream), all to do with popularity and yes a Gibson might sound better, but this one will save you a little dough and still sound good. This is a excellent guitar and worth the money, you don't need to buy a $2900 version of a original Les Paul, unless you have the money for it, this will do just fine. I play mine every day and it hardly ever goes out of tune and I mean very seldom, unless I'm getting downright crazy with the axe and it still stays in tune. The pick-ups are good and has a rich sound, I also like it better than the Strat and yes, I used to have one. |
Very Nice For The Price

Now while I can't say that this is just as good as a Gibson its close enough. Bought this guitar from American Musical Supply for $319.99 (with free shipping) and for the price it is not bad at all. I ordered it on Sunday night arrived Wednesday playable right out of the box!!!
Looks
Its truly beautiful not as detailed as Gibson but who cares. I got the ebony with chrome hardware the picture does not do this guitar justice. I swear it looks three times as good as it does in the picture.
Sound
For a guitar of this price the pickups are great. On a clean channel the neck/rhythm pickup provides a nice thick rich warm bluesy tone with sustain that seems to last forever! While the bridge/treble pickup provides a bright perfect tone. When mixed with my Big Muff Pi & Boss DS-2
Turbo Distortion pedals (both are a great buy) it provides deep smooth rhythms and ear scorching leads.
Durability
The guitar it self is very well made and can take quite a beating.
My only gripe so far is it goes out of tune with the original strings. So I swapped them out for a new set haven't had a problem since.
Overall
If your looking for a cheap alternative to a $2000-3000 Gibson Les Paul without sacrificing sound or durability this is by far your best bet. If something ever happened to it without a thought I'd replace it in a second. |

| This guitar is the best guitar ever! It is a sweet guitar! It feels, soundS and looks like a real les paul. It is a great investment! I have played a lot of real les pauls and other guitars and this is the best! I even have my own little Squire Strat which is a good guitar, but I think this is the best guitar on earth!!!!!!!!!! I would definately buy this guitar if I were you!!! But I got mine from a store, so I think you should go and try some out. I got mine for around $400 and it is sweet! I played it for 12 hours straight after I got it, plus a ton during the rest of the week and it hardly went out of tune. It has great sound and sustain and as someone said in one review for another guitar, I have to look down to make sure it is me playing it because it sounds so good!!!!! I LOVE THIS GUITAR! IT ROCKS AND IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have always been a fan of Gibson, way back before they moved their main factory to Nashville and started doing a lot of their manufacturing overseas. Because of that, I have alwasys been hesitant about going with one of their non-US guitars, such as this one. Call me skeptical.
The price was right, so I took a chance on the Epiphone Les Paul. Was shocked at how good the quality and sound was!!
Those who have played ths standard, Gibson Les Pauls will probably notice a few differences, like the lower-quality wood, electronics, and hardware. What you get here isn't bad though. It's just not as good as a Gibson. But you're saving about $2000 though, so I think it's a fair trade.
A good sounding guitar!! Good for a beginner/intermediate player who wants a "real" Les Paul. |

| This is an excellent guitar. It sounds great, plays well and only cost me around 400 bucks. Unless you happen to be very wealthy and can afford an original Gibson '59 Les Paul, I highly recommend this guitar. |

This guitar is pretty cool. The finish is absolutely beautiful and It really has the feel of a real Les Paul. Shipping was amazing. I ordered the guitar on Saturday and it arrived Tuesday.
However, The looks and amazing shipping service are only a small portion. I have been doing some reading of others reveiws and it seems as if a few people have encountered small problems with their Eipihone Les Paul models. Mine also had one. No matter what I do I can not eliminate "fret buzz". It seems as If I will have to take it to a shop and get the frets filed down some.
Other than that the guitar is an amazing buy and so far no one has experienced any problems that cannot be fixed quite easily. Its really a no-brainier. Even paying 25-30 bucks to get the frets filed will still keep me way under the price range of a Gibson.
So far, even with the fret buzz, the sound is very ballsy and has the Gibson sound. Could be better but Its still very nice.
Bottom line is this is your guitar if you love the feel of the Gibson Les Paul body style but don't want to put out $3000.
