Quite a Guitar

I just received an Ibanez AG75 as a very early Christmas present, and I must say that I'm quite impressed. If you do some surfing on the web and read the reviews, you'll see that players generally are quite favorably impressed and often surprised by the tonal variety the three-way switch and the four knob controllers provide. It's true... One can get some of that British Invasion jangle and a nice warm jazz tone, as well as much that's in between. One of my former music theory students has an AF75, and when I saw his guitar I was impressed with how much nicer it looked than in the photos you find all over the web. The difference between the stock photos of the AG75 and the finish are even more stark -- the photos don't do it justice. The neck is sized and shaped for easy technique, and while one could quibble about the D'Addario strings that come on it, they have a pretty even feel and sound. My guitar came set up well from the factory. Just be aware that protective plastic film that they put between the bridge and the body is a bit of a pain to remove: I found it difficult to remove without moving the bridge. I have not had a lot of time to try out the guitar, but I did some testing with a tuner and have found the intonation to be very consistent, and the tuners hold their tune quite well, especially with stings that are so new.

Follow up from March 2010: I've been very happy with the Ibanez AG75 since I first received it over a year ago. The depth of tone is much better than that found in solid-body guitars, and the tonal range continues to impress me. This guitar easily adapts to any style. If you are reluctant to buy it because you think that it's just a "jazz box," please put your fears to rest -- it can rock as well as just about anything out there and has the 24.75" scale that makes it more amenable to fast technical playing than electric guitars with 25.5" scale.
Awesome, especially for the price!

This guitar has only one fault: it is very hard to move from it to something else especially considering its price. It is really quality instrument, well designed and very nice sounding. It is very strongly build, with quality finish and a die hard. The neck is awesome, the tuners are nice. Great guitar! As everyone who plays guitar I suffer from a desire to buy another one, but it is very hard to find a guitar that is even 5 times the price that feels as great jazz box as this.
